PACESETTERS
A Social & Running Club for Girls
To build confidence, friendships & a lifelong love of movement in girls ages 7-10 through a specialised before and after-school club.
Why is sport so important for girls?
-
In the UK, only 22% of girls participate in team sports compared to 69% of boys.
-
In a study of over 1,300 girls and their parents, it was found that between the ages of 8-14, girls’ confidence levels drop by 30%.
-
Studies have shown that participation in sport is linked to improved confidence, teamwork & leadership positions later in life.
Why Pacesetters?
Girls often feel more comfortable participating in physical activity in supportive, all-girl environments.
At a time when girls’ negative voices start to overpower their confidence, we build them up, create a sense of belonging and encourage healthy habits to support them into their teenage years.
We focus on the social, emotional, and physical well-being of each girl. We tailor sessions to them and their abilities. They form a team and build skills for life.
At the end of the year, they run a 5K alongside their teammates and families. Their smiles as they cross the finish line say it all.
Girls will gain:
From the track
“As a mum of two girls, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful movement, encouragement and friendship can be in building confidence - Pacesetters creates space for all three.”
- Lauren Bennett, Mum
“The look on the girls' faces, after months of hard work, when they finally cross the finish line, is only overshadowed by the pride on their parents' faces."
- Sarah Samuel, Coach
